Dear Family & Friends,
I have an opportunity to travel abroad to Uganda in February 2012 on a short term mission trip. This would be a follow up to my successful trip to Colombia in 2010. I know my small sacrifice, has to this day, made an immeasurable difference in the lives of the children at La Rosa De Saron Community School.
The Uganda team will be installing Aquascape’s Rainxchange System at an international needs school in Kiyindi, a small fishing village near the shores of Lake Victoria. This system will greatly improve the lives of the people in Kiyindi! We will not just be providing water. This will change the future for the men, women and children in the village.
I know many people here in our own communities struggle with financial insecurity and are uncertain of what the future brings for their families. We are a wealthy nation and we sometimes forget that other people here and abroad suffer daily from the lack of bare necessities. Imagine not having a basic essential like clean drinking water!
I didn’t make the decision to go to Colombia lightly, I gave it much thought and talked to many of you about the reasons why my participation would be important. Now, having experienced participation in a mission, I have reaffirmed my conclusion to help. To give now when it is the most difficult will have deeper meaning for me and greater appreciation from those who will benefit.
I am so proud that my daughter Danielle has decided to accompany me to Uganda! She will bring a fresh perspective to the mission for me and our team. I can’t describe in words the emotions I have experienced and I look forward to sharing them all again with her. Danielle will be documenting our trip for her senior project daily on Facebook and through the Aquascape Foundation website. When we return she will be speaking publicly to educate others on our mission.
We can’t do it alone, please share this mission with us, first, keep us and our Aquascapes Foundation Team in your thoughts and prayers, we really appreciate it! Another way you can be involved is to help provide financial support. We will be hosting a Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 22nd, on our property and all are invited! The cost of our trip is $6600.00 and we need to raise those funds as soon as possible to cover expenses. If you are able to support us in any of these ways, please complete the enclosed support card and mail it to the I.N. Network at the address indicated. Whether you fell led to contribute financially, through prayer or just want to give us a friendly send off at the festival, your support is greatly appreciated.
We look forward to doing this humanitarian work in Uganda and letting you know all about it when we return in February.
